Celebrity Holiday Traditions Bring on the Charm

By Hannah Avison

From Nashville to Paris, people around the world are celebrating the holidays in style…including your favorite celebrities! What makes the holidays special are those traditions we enjoy from year to year that lend meaning to the merrymaking. This year, take a bit of #inspo from your favorite Hollywood stars and their treasured traditions.

Fern & Maple

Tori Spelling: Among the traditional annual activities that actress Tori Spelling loves to share with her family is a family meal by the fire. After lighting a fire in the fireplace, they bring out pots of mac ‘n cheese or chili and watch one of their favorite Christmas movies together. Sounds cozy and picture perfect!

Gwyneth Paltrow: Lifestyle guru and mega-star Gwyneth admits that Christmas Eve can be exhausting, what with making dinner, cleaning up and wrapping gifts. The last thing any parent wants is to spend more time preparing treats to leave out for Santa Claus. But the kids won’t want to neglect this crucial task of the night before Christmas! Her answer? This is the time for readymade, slice-and-bake cookies, which are as easy as they sound. And don’t forget the raw carrots (no need to peel) for the reindeer. The final touch - delicious hot cocoa with whipped cream - is worth it as a nightcap for you and Santa alike!

Lauren Conrad: With little ones at home, the holidays are a chance to start your family’s own traditions. Superstar influencer Lauren Conrad suggests starting out right by observing the true spirit of the season: helping those who are less fortunate. When you shop for gifts for your family and friends, include gifts to donate to a family in need. Include your children in the conversation and gift selection so it becomes part of their own understanding of the holidays from early on.

There you have it - holiday traditions from their house to yours! For more ideas on ways to celebrate this season, see our Holiday section.
